Ridgeside Commissioners Vote on First Reading to Close Lynncrest
Ridgeside commissioners decided Tuesday night, January 18, 2010, to close Lynncrest at Tunnel Blvd.
The city auditor's report for the fiscal year indicated a surplus in the Ridgeside balance of funds. The auditor complimented the financial condition of Ridgeside.
Commissioner Sonny Sanders reminded residents that commission election will be in November. Current mayor Brant Mason said he will not be a candidate for re-election. Commissioners Sanders and Dunagan said they had not yet made a decision on whether to seek to serve another four years.
Ridgeside city officials are one step closer to making decisions on street enhancement and possible closures. The commission heard from consultant and Ridgeside resident Bill Stiles during the November 10, 2009 meeting the results of Stiles' months long research into the opinions concerning closing.

Ridgeside's city commission members on during the regular meeting of July 21, 2009, expressed pleasure with the recent crime data for the neigborhood. Commissioners also presented status reports on the care and maintenance of the pool.

Ridgeside's city commission members on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2009, passed on first reading an ordinance that gives permission and authority to continue the study and posssible implementation of a project to close one or more of the city's streets.
The full text of the proposed ordinance is available in .pdf format.
Commissioners said a second and third reading of the proposed ordinance will occur at the next regularly scheduled commission meeting.
